Located 3.5 hours north of Sydney with rolling hills, surrounding mountains, and a beautiful valley, Mudgee is perfectly suited for hot air ballooning.
Commencing at sunrise, when most people are still asleep, you'll arrive at the meeting point to be greeted by the pilot and crew. Enjoy a tea or coffee and make your breakfast order. It'll be waiting for you when you return.
Your adventure begins with a drive out to the chosen launch site. Sit back and marvel at the scenery or help the pilot inflate the balloon. 20-25 minutes and it's time to board and fly with the wind.
An hour is spent in the air with only the occasional sound of the burner to interrupta peaceful flight over this beautiful region. You drift above treetops and ascend to heights of 2000 feet or more.
When you land, finish the experience with a delightful buffet breakfast and Champagne celebration at the Blue Wren. Time to relax and share the best memories of your ballooning adventure at Mudgee.
Please allow approximately four hours in total from check-in to champagne breakfast. The flight itself is one hour. The meeting time is approximately 45 minutes before sunrise.
This experience is available all year round with flights taking place at sunrise. We fly on the first Saturday of the each month.
Valid for one person. There will be at least four people in the basket with you during your flight.
Tall people may wish to wear a hat.
You must advise the operator of medical conditions that may preclude you from flying, such as serious knee, hip or back problems, recent surgeries or broken bones or pregnant. Minimum age is 7 years old.
