Narrow Neck Plateau: a ribbon-like ridge of towering sandstone that separates two mighty valleys. This is a site with magical views and a range of cliffs perfect for your first abseiling adventure.
Get into your harness and helmet and bounce down cliffs with the valley plunging hundreds of metres below you.
In the morning gentle 5m cliffs get you started while you get your head for heights and improve your technique, with expert tuition from our guides. Then, when you are ready, up the adrenalin factor with some 15m and 30m abseils.
It’s just a short walk from the bottom of each abseil back to the top so you can repeat the smaller abseils until you feel ready to tackle the bigger ones.
In the afternoon it’s off to the Empress Canyon for your first taste of canyoning, the highlight of which is – you guessed it - a 30m abseil down the stunning waterfall at the end of the canyon.
But before you get there, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the canyon’s beautiful rainforest and sculptured rocks, clamber over boulders, leap into deep pools, and spy bright orange crayfish native to the region.
Your adventure lasts approximately 6-7 hours. Your memories will last a lifetime!
Lunch, your qualified canyoning guide, all equipment including wetsuits and safety instruction including abseiling techniques are included in the package. Some short swims involved, but with floatation aids and expert guides even weaker swimmers and non-swimmers can enjoy this experience. This makes it an ideal package for families with children who have never abseiled before.
