Prepare for an adventure of a lifetime and enjoy a taste of aviation as it used to be in the good old days of open cockpits and bi-planes.

  • Receive a pre-flight briefing from your fully trained pilot
  • Take a flight that lasts for up to 45 minutes in an award winning 1940s Tiger Moth
  • Enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding area
  • Prepare yourself to experience some exciting manoeuvres in your vintage aircraft
  • Includes experience gift pack with personalised voucher and message card

A bygone era of flight awaits.

This fully restored1940s De Havilland Tiger Moth was used to train pilots during the 1930s and 1940s.

Revolutionary at the time, it's a great example of a trainer plane. It's easy to fly but harder to fly well.

After an introduction to safety, prepare for your aerobatics flight by putting on the Biggles style aviation jacket, headset and goggles. You will feel like you have entered another era and possibly no different to the trainer pilots of the 1930s.

Once the prop begins spinning and the engine is up to full speed, it's chocks away, chaps! Up, up and away!

At the right height, it's time for some exciting but gentle aerobatic manoeuvres from spins to loops. Between the hair-raising aerobatics, there'll be time to enjoy the beautiful views of the surroundings.

Flying is weather dependent. The operator will call you if weather conditions are unfavourable on the day and your booking needs to be rescheduled.

Allow one hour with 45 minutes in the aircraft from engine start to engine stop.

This experience is available all year round but subject to prevailing weather conditions.

Valid for one person. This is one on one with your fully qualified pilot.

Spectators are welcome to see you off and wave you in on your return. Bring a camera and if you have them a pair of binoculars. You will need to sign for a visitors pass at the operator's facilities. Please take photo id with you.

Minimum age is 6. If you fit into a standard car seat you should be comfortable in the cockpit. Unsuitable for pregnant women or anyone unable to climb into the open cockpit. If you have a medical condition please check with your doctor first.

  • The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
  • CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; and
  • The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk; and
  • If it is reasonable to believe that a passenger cannot understand the safety briefing; said passenger must be accompanied on the flight by a parent, guardian, or carer; and
  • A detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft. This will include signing a liability waiver and acknowledgment of the briefing. If the passenger is under 18 years of age the waiver and acknowledgment must be signed by a parent, or legal guardian.

Excellent experience. It was completely different to going up in a jumbo. Will recommend it to anyone.

I gave this as a gift to my father for Father's Day. He had a great time and said it was an amazing experience. Everything I wanted. Thanks.

What a life saver. I ran out of time but got this e-voucher for my dad. He went on the tiger moth a week ago and had a fabulous time. I can't remember the last time that grin was so big. You've got a great web site and I'm definately going to use you again. Thanks.

The whole experience was a high because it rekindled my childhood fascination with vintage aeroplanes. The pilot was good company and very professional.

The pilot was very professional, the flight was fun had a great time next time I want to go for an aerobatic experience in a yak or mustang.

I enjoyed everything about the experience, from beginning to end. Everyone was extremely nice and any questions i had were easily answered. The flight went smoothly, i never felt as though i was unsafe, and the pilot knew exactly what he was doing. Everything was extremely enjoyable and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a good experience

I purchased this experience for my husband as a last minute birthday present. He absolutely loved it. Both Gifts that Thrill and Tiger Moth Joy Flights were professional and courteous. I think my husband had a few extra loops and tricks thrown in by the piolet becuase it was such a beautiful day for flying :Also, the gift box that is included as part of the experience arrived promptly within two days of order. It may sound silly, but this gift box is one of the primary reasons that I chose Gifts That Thrill over other similar websites, which all seem charge extra to send a voucher/gift box. Even though the gift box is secondary to the experience itself, it's really nice to have something tangible to give as a gift prior to the experience. The Gifts That Thrill gift boxes look great, and provide a really clear overview of what will be included in the experience.

The flight was ok - pilot excellent. Need the aerobatic package to spice up the flight - it was a bit boring

The person who experienced the Tiger Moth flight enjoyed it and would not hesitate to do it again.

Top flight

would do it again maybe up grade the level .

An absolutely awesome experience.
