Experience the thrill of riding the waves in a safe and supportive environment, perfect for first-timers or those needing a refresher on the basics. This session is conducted in whitewash and waist-deep water and guarantees a fun and memorable experience for all.
Families eager to embrace the surf together will find this lesson ideal. However, we recommend that children be confident in the waves and capable of carrying their surfboards to the beach.
Arrive in your boardies, ready to dive into the waves after a brief safety overview. While you might not become a pro at Straddie on day one, we promise to help you stand up and catch your first wave within the session. Surfing is a fantastic sport for all ages, and our sessions are designed to give you a taste of the adventure, leaving you eager to return for more.
Learn to identify surfboard parts, develop basic surf awareness, recognise hazards in the surf such as rips, take the steps to stand on a board, ride a broken wave in the whitewash assisted by the instructor, and fall off safely in the shallows.
Allow 2 hours for your lesson and 15 minutes to register. You spend approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes in the water.
Available September through to June.
No swimming ability necessary as the lesson is conducted in waist-deepwater but you must be strong enough to hold on to your own surfboard.
