Experience an exhilarating full-day rafting through the lush wilderness of the West Coast's temperate rainforest.
Guided by experienced guides, you'll take a 20 km, 6-hour journey traversing the King River along Tasmania's West Coast.
This trip has it all. First, get close to the ancient rainforest as you paddle past thousands of rare Huon and King Billy Pine trees. Next, see the unspoiled environment of the Garfield River's platypus pool. Then, traverse the exhilarating Sailor Jack rapid and visit sites of historical interest, including the original town of Teepookana and the old Cascades Hotel.
Wildlife in the thick West Coast bush can be hard to see, but you may catch a glimpse of a timid platypus or a white-bellied sea eagle soaring overhead as you near the sea.
The trip includes transport to and from the river from Queenstown and a generous lunch, plus snacks and water. All the rafting and safety gear you need, including a wetsuit, helmet and lifejacket. Also, you get to use waterproof cameras to immortalise your rafting experience, reviewing your photos on the return trip to Queenstown in the comfort of your tour bus – awesome!
