Intended for desert racing, the trophy truck oozes high power and long travel suspensions.
It's V8 Chevy engine, long travel and all-round durability makes it the perfect vehicle for the Baja 1000 desert race. The trophy truck shares a lot of elements with a pure Dakar racer, but built to a military-grade specification. It's super tough.
At the venue, your instructor introduces you to the truck and its capabilities. From the transmission, to the suspension with 2 foot of movement to the V8 Chevy engine, this truck is built for off-road terrain. And you get to drive it for 6 laps.
Your instructor is with you all the way. With a mic and speaker embedded in your helmet, you can talk to him and listen in to tips on controlling the truck. He's only next to you, in the navigator’s seat but the comms make it easier to hear against the roaring engine sounds.
With each lap your confidence grows as you learn to drift through the corners, race down the straights and over purpose built jumps.
With full face helmet, overalls and a 3-point race harness, you are completely safe to unleash the speed demon in you. And as Top Gear put it, 'the truck absorbs the abuse, revels in it. For once, there are no caveats, no disappointments. Trophy Trucks are The Law'.
