You begin your 3-hour adventure from Byron Bay beach, where you learn how to steer and paddle before embarking on the guided tour. Paddle from the shore, past the break, where your guide shares the Dreamtime stories about Nguthungulli the Julian Rocks. Soon, you'll pass along the Pass surfing Mecca, Wategos Millionaire Row and Walgun, Australia's most easterly point. Watch for dolphins, whales (when in season) and various turtles.
The sea is evident as you reach the volcanic reef. It's time for a swim, a snorkel, and refreshments.At this point, you'll see stunning views of the Byron Bay coastline, the lighthouse, and surf waves.Surf waves are fantastic fun, and you'll learn how to ride them on your return.
