This cave system is found in the hills of the Yarra Valley, about a 90-minute drive from Melbourne.Is this the most fun you can have without laughing?Perhaps!This tour is suitable for those with little or no experience of caving.
Firstly, we meet you at our designated point, where you can grab a quick coffee or snack and then use our shuttle transfer service to the caves or drive your car down dirt roads to get there.After getting into your caving gear, our guides will give you our safety and activity briefing.Then, the adventure truly begins as you climb through rocky entries into the mysterious underground world and explore a maze ofboulder caves.You'll findphosphorous glow worms, cave crickets and your way out!
About 2 hours are spent underground exploring, although there are many opportunities to exit the caves and re-enter different parts of the system. This system has eight entry points that we use regularly.
You'll usually get wet and muddy during the caving as this is a livesystem with a small creek running through it.As the caves are at the head of a gully, they will not flood while you are underground. Our friendly guides always make your safety and enjoyment their priority.
This Caving Half Day Intro Tour runs for 3 hours from the time we meet you, but allow a whole day as it is about 90 minutes drive from Melbourne to our meeting point with the Guides.
This experience is available mid week or on weekends throughout the year. Environmental limitations are due to possible fire restrictions or stormy weather. miinimum numbers also apply.
Valid for 1 adult. This experience can cater for a maximum of 20 participants.
All caving and safety gear are provided including ropes, helmets and head torches, overalls or overpantsandfleecy tops or you can BYO.
Average fitness is recommended. This voucher is for an adult aged 17 and over or you can also purchase vouchers for children aged 7-16.
Wow Had I have known what I was in for Im not sure I would have had the nerve to participate but so glad I didWith the mantra 1, 2, 3 go I switched off my worrying brain & plunged myself into confined spaces, immersed in pitch darkness, climbing walls I didnt know I was capable of climbing & from being hesitant to get my shoes wet to bear crawling through a stream, fully drenching myself. The result left me feeling so proud of myself & Im still on a high from it 3 days later.Our tour guide, Kathryn, was highly professional, fun & full of interesting information & adventurer anecdotes which really added to the experience.
