Get wet, wild and more in the forests of the King River Gorge. On this full-day adventure, experience the beauty of Tasmania and some thrills as you navigate the King River in a raft.
Make your way downriver and feel the silence around you, surrounded by the mountains of the West Coast Range. Take it all in on your journey through the natural beauty of the rainforest as the ancient Huon pine trees tower above you on either side. There’ll be moments of excitement when your raft encounters some features of the King River, like Newall Creek and the famous Sailor Jack Rapid.
When your raft reaches Dubbil Barril Station, it’s time to go back to the days of yore as you ride on a steam train for a historical journey up the slopes. At Rinadeena, grab some coffee when the train stops for water. Early prospectors came rushing to the mountains around the King River when gold was discovered, so at our next stop, Lynchford, you’ll get a chance to pan in the stream bed for gold like an oldtimer.
Join this tour for a trip down the river wild and some romance from a bygone era of Tasmania.
