  • Experience a 30-minute flight over the Yarra Valley region
  • Pratt and Whitney Wasp Junior 9-cylinder radial engine
  • 30 minutes of pure joy you will never forget
  • Includes experience gift pack with personalised voucher and message card

Enjoy additional sights in the Winjeel CA-25 with 30-minutes of flight time to relish.

Built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation in the 1950s, the Winjeel aircraft has its name derived from the aboriginal word meaning ‘young eagle’.

And how apt that is because the plane was used by the Royal Australian Air Force as a basic trainer for new recruits and as a Forward Air Control aircraft.

It’s a 3-seater, so it can take 2 passengers plus the pilot, just as long as the total weight is kept within limits, else it will have trouble getting off the ground!

You take off from Lilydale Airport where you’re treated to some amazing views over the Yarra Glen, Healesville, the Yarra River and Sugarloaf Reservoir.  The additional time affords you the beautiful Mt Dandenong, Silvan and Cardinia reservoirs as well as a view the Melbourne CBD on the horizon.

The Pratt and Whitney Wasp Junior 9-cylinder radial engine can propel the Winjeel CA-25 right up to 290 km/h with a cruise speed of 265km/h.  And with 30 minutes in the air, that’s plenty of air to cover.

Upon landing, take some pictures and celebrate alongside a Victorian-built aircraft, designed and built at Fishermans Bend.
