Begin your Formula Ford day learning how to operate the controls of this single-seater Zetec racing car. You'll cover the lay-back driving position, the stubby, right hand 4 speed gearshift and the non-synchromesh down-changing technique.
Then it's on to the circuit in a passenger car to learn from the instructor all the important features of the Baskerville Raceway.
Baskerville is a challenging track and ideal for learning to drive a race car. Learn the racing lines, the apexes, braking points and best gear changes.
With the instruction over, you can prepare to try out a Formula Ford for yourself.
Imagine the sensations of driving this open-wheel racing car for the first time. Its lightweight motor produces peak horsepower at higher revs, but the gearing and the longer stroke of the engine allows you to take advantage of the impressive torque curve at lower rpm’s.
Drive for 20 magical laps and feel what it's like to be a racing driver with the tight surround of an open cockpit, a super sensitive gearstick and the track just centemetres below.

Drives are available on selected dates throughout the year. Dates and venues are subject to change by venue. Customers will be notified prior to events, should this occur.
Voucher valid for one person. There up to 20 people per group and up to 4 cars on the track at any one time.
You must hold a minimum of a current P Plate licence and be able to drive a manual gearbox. You are required to sign an indemnity and waiver form as a condition of participating. All drivers are liable for any damage done to the race car.
You must weigh less than 120kg and be under 192cm tall. Not suitable for drivers that are pregnant. If you are concerned about the impact of high speed driving, we recommend you consult a doctor. You must have a 0pc blood alcohol level.
