Begin your Formula Ford day learning how to operate the controls of this single-seater Zetec racing car. You'll cover the lay-back driving position, the stubby, right hand 4 speed gearshift and the non-synchromesh down-changing technique.
Then it's on to the circuit in a passenger car to learn from the instructor all the important features of the Broadford track.
After the instruction is over, it's time to enjoy the sensations of driving an open-wheel racing car for the first time, under the watchful eyes of your instructors.
Drive for 20 laps and feel what it's like to be a racing driver with the tight surround of an open cockpit, a super sensitive gear stick and the track just centimetres below.
Allow up to three hours for the entire experience.
Drives are available on selected dates throughout the year.
Voucher valid for one person. There up to 20 people per group and up to 4 cars on the track at any one time.

The Formula Ford experience was fantastic - amazing cars, well setup and well run. Understanding that weather, machinery issues etc. can always be a big factor in Motorsport type activities, the whole day went off without a hitch. I still can't get the grin off my face several days later, and can't wait to get the video footage I ordered on the day. :
