Prepare for an incredible roller coaster ride with a 25-minute flight in a mighty Russian YAK 52.

Complete with original colours, instrumentation and radios, the YAK 52 is a 1991 model built for the Russian Air Force for training.  It’s one of the newest Yaks in Australia.

But beware; a cast-iron stomach, nerves of steel and a head for giddy heights are vital.

After a brief with your pilot, suit up and board the YAK 52.  Your pilot checks and prepares the plane for take-off.  You can hear everything including communications with air traffic control.

With clearance for take-off, the plane rapidly rises to a dizzy height from where your aerobatics sequence begins.

You get to enjoy an introductory aerobatic sequence that includes barrel rolls and loop the loop.  If you feel up to it, you can take the controls and try some aerobatics.

If this doesn't topple your gyros, then nothing will!

In some conditions your flight may need to be rescheduled or certain movements may be avoided. The operator will call you if your flight needs to be postponed due to poor weather.

Allow one hour with 25 minutes in the aircraft from engine start to engine stop.

The experience is available all year round. We recommend booking at least two to three weeks in advance.

Valid for one person.  Only you and your qualified pilot will be in the aircraft during your flight.

Spectators are welcome to see you off and wave you in on your return. You will need to sign for a visitors pass at the operators facilities.

Min age is 6. Max height is 6 foot 3 inches and weight 110 kg. If you fit into a standard car seat you should be comfortable in the cockpit. Unsuitable for pregnant women. The aircraft is capable of abrupt movement. We recommend you obtain medical advice if you have a prevailing condition.

CASA Regulation for booking adventure flights

  • The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
  • CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; and
  • The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk; and
  • If it is reasonable to believe that a passenger cannot understand the safety briefing; said passenger must be accompanied on the flight by a parent, guardian, or carer; and
  • A detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft. This will include signing a liability waiver and acknowledgment of the briefing. If the passenger is under 18 years of age the waiver and acknowledgment must be signed by a parent, or legal guardian.

I thoroughly enjoyed the aerobatics and the pilot was superb. It was one of the best things ever that I experienced in my life. I have nothing but praise and I say to my friends "You've got to experience this".

The flight and maneuvers were very good. The pilot, Garry, explained things well.

Once in a lifetime event.
