Flying in a plane is fun. Aerobatics is fun too. But imagine taking the controls and trying loops and barrel rolls. Wouldn’t that be fun?
You can do just that in this hands-on experience. Surprised?
Begin with your feet firmly on the ground. Your instructor briefs you on the plane’s controls and operations. Then with your instructor sat right beside you, prepare for take-off.
You will be able to take in all the calls to air traffic control and speak with your instructor throughout the flight.
Once airborne, your instructor explains the basic mechanics of flight and how the plane behaves at various altitudes.
Confident with the information? It's time to take the controls of the plane.
First learn to flight straight with level flight. But this flight isn't simply about flying the plane straight and level nor doing basic turns. There’s the more complicated and exciting manoeuvres like loops and rolls. Try them at your own pace.
You may even get the opportunity to fly the plane back to the airport and to try an approach and landing.
Your experience runs for approx. 1 hour.
The hands on aerobatics flight is available all year round.
Valid for 1 person. Just you and your instructor will be in the plane.
Passengers are not permitted to carry anything, other than a camera, with them on the flight Passengers are not permitted to fly if under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will forfeit their flight.
All passengers must be in good physical health, and be less than 190cm tall and 105kg in weight.. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent. If you have a physical disability please let us know in advance so we can ensure we have the facilities you will require available.
Military aircraft are built and tested to different standards than that put forward by CASA or any equivalent international civil aviation governing body. As such, in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Parts 132.140, 132.150 and 132.155;
- The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
- CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; and
- The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk; and
- If it is reasonable to believe that a passenger cannot understand the safety briefing; said passenger must be accompanied on the flight by a parent, guardian, or carer; and
- A detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft. This will include signing a liability waiver and acknowledgment of the briefing. If the passenger is under 18 years of age the waiver and acknowledgment must be signed by a parent, or legal guardian.
