Climb aboard!Let the wind blow in your hair.Its time to enjoy a touch of the romance of the 1940s in a Boeing Stearman.Well take you to New England Gorge Country and perform gyro toppling aerobatics on the return leg.Youll even get to wear the leather flying helmet and goggles.

Start your day with apre-flight briefing,an introduction to the Boeing Stearman aircraft, plus an overview of the types of aerobatic manoeuvres you will encounter.Then jump aboard the Stearman, ready to depart Armidale Airport to head southeast over the New England Farmland toward Dangars Gorge.

At Dangars Gorge you link up with Gara Gorge, see the Mihi Falls, the Blue Hole and more before proceeding back to the airfield.During the return leg, your pilot takes the Stearman to a safe aerobatics height where youll experience rolls where you hang upside down.

Feel the G forces as you carve up the sky.Experience a beautifully restored supercharged fighter trainer's unique sound, smell and feel.

Finally, you return to the airport where you began and safely land.Theres plenty of time for photos alongside the plane.Step back in history and enjoy.

This experience is affected by the weather. In the case of poor conditions, we will reschedule your experience for a later date.

Allow 1 and a half hours for the experience with 30 minutes spent in the air.

Available throughout the year, operating 7 days a week.

Valid for one person.

Any changes made to bookings must be done at least 48 hours before the flight.

You must be 13 years old and over, weigh no more than 130kg and be under 200cm tall. A parent or guardian will need to sign a consent form for children under the age of 18 prior to the flight.

CASA Regulation for booking adventure flights

Military aircraft are built and tested to different standards than that put forward by CASA or any equivalent international civil aviation governing body. As such, in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Parts 132.140, 132.150 and 132.155;

  • The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and
  • CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; and
  • The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk; and
  • If it is reasonable to believe that a passenger cannot understand the safety briefing; said passenger must be accompanied on the flight by a parent, guardian, or carer; and
  • A detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft. This will include signing a liability waiver and acknowledgment of the briefing. If the passenger is under 18 years of age the waiver and acknowledgment must be signed by a parent, or legal guardian.
