  • In depth briefing covering history and capabilities of the Yak-3
  • Enjoy 30 minutes of fun in the air
  • Optional aerobatics to try your nerves
  • Includes experience gift pack with personalised voucher and message card

The World Record Holder Yak-3 SteadFast holds a grand total of nine world records.  Formidable in the art of dogfighting the Yak-3 is incredibly efficient with a power-to-weight ratio that permits precision close range aerial dogfights.

Before strapping in, your pilot for the day takes you through an in-depth briefing covering the history of the WWII YAK-3, its world records and an overview of its capabilities.

After an up-close look at the aircraft, you are strapped in securely.  Powered by the revered Merlin engine, this beast boasts immense power and you'll feel it as the ignition is engaged and the motor starts spinning.  The initial roar turns into something far louder as the throttle moves forward and the plane begins its journey down the runway.

At a safe height, the simulation begins with a high-speed attack run through the Stradbroke Island valleys.  You experience the thrill of being low and fast in a WWII fighter.  You then move to some classic fighter manoeuvres - combat aileron rolls, barrel rolls, and loops.

Finally, celebrate a victory with a high speed run across Moreton Bay.  Then back to Archerfield for a classic buzz and break manoeuvre prior to landing.

For the fighter buff, this experience is as thrilling as it sounds but no words can describe the smells, the sights and nostalgia you experience on the flight.  It’s one big, remarkable adventure.

The experience is subject to good weather.  In the case of inclement weather, the operator may postpone the event.  In such cases, you are able to rebook for another date directly with the operator.
